2024-2025 Scholarship Award Recipients

Eden was born in West Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up actively participating in actions that would better our planet. From contributing to a greener urban habitat with her Girl Scout troop to asking her family to purchase responsible, eco-conscious food for their home, she was a budding environmentalist by middle school! She plans to attend a 4-year university and major in Environmental Science or Biology. She is currently developing a research project dedicated to evaluating the use of green space in her local area, and hopes the project will help her gain insight on the many avenues she can take in the world of Environmental Science.

Ezra has always found interest in the natural world from a very young age. Throughout school, he learned how serious caring about our planet is. From global warming to mass extinction, he knew he wanted to make a positive impact on our planet and quickly sprang into action. As Ezra did the research, like looking at the effects of climate change and how to be more sustainable in his everyday life, his passion continued to grow. He had the opportunity to participate in COSMOS (California State Summer School for Math and Science) and live at UCSD for a month. Because of this, Ezra has been accepted to UCSD as a Chemistry Major, and hopes this path leads him to discovering how to slow down Earth's decay!
